Water is all around us, and every waterway has a story to tell.
WATCH Citizen Science has created an educational water testing video to help teachers bring citizen science into the classroom.
Designed as a resource for educators, the video introduces teachers to water testing and provides a simple way to engage students in observing, asking questions, collecting information, and learning about the water in their own community.

This activity can be used by classrooms anywhere. Whether students are testing a river, stream, lake, pond, or another local waterway, their observations can help them better understand the environment around them.
Students can explore questions such as:
What is happening in our water?
What can our observations tell us?
How does our water compare with other places?
And most importantly, share what they discover.
We encourage teachers and classes to share their water testing results with WATCH Citizen Science. By sharing observations from different communities, students become part of a larger citizen science story and can see how their local observations contribute to a better understanding of freshwater across our communities.
